Steam and Compressed Air Program
Airometrix is contracted to Southern California Gas Company (SCG) to provide in-depth industrial steam system audits during the period 2010-2012. Following is a description of the service offered through this program.
The scope of services is flexible and customer-driven. The program deliverables are an in-depth engineering study detailing gas savings measures at the customer site including:
- Detailed description of the recommended measures
- Baseline energy use for the affected systems
- Quantification of energy savings potential for each recommended measure
- Installation cost estimates and simple payback calculations
There is no cost to participate in the program. All engineering services are covered by the SCG program. This program does not provide direct incentives or payments for implementation of projects. However, SCG has other programs (Custom and Prescriptive) that may apply to recommended measures. Participation in this program does not in any way preclude participation in any other SCG programs. Customers are encouraged to work with their SCG Account Executives to facilitate rebates for projects identified in this program.
The analysis and reporting is completely vendor neutral and Customers are free to pursue projects using internal resources or utilize the contractor of their choice for installation of measures. There is no requirement to work with any preferred vendors nor is there a requirement to install any measures as a result of the audit.
Qualifying customers must use a minimum of 50,000 therms of Natural gas from SCG and be an Industrial, Institutional, or Governmental facility.
Scope of Service for studies can include, but are not limited to:
- Steam pipe insulation
- Condensate return systems
- Turbine installation/economics
- Steam trap survey
- Process steam uses
- Heat exchangers and end use survey
- Flash steam heat recovery
- Clean steam systems
- Humidification systems
- HVAC systems
